Improved efficiency for teachers and students with LMS systems from Haldor
When Alta municipality wanted to select a new digital learning platform for two of their largest upper secondary schools, they were looking for a solution that was compatible with Microsoft Teams.
Haldor was the preferred supplier, and just a few months after start-up, both teachers and students experience that school life has been made easier.
“It all started with our decision to introduce Microsoft Teams as a work tool in both schools which meant we needed additional features to make Teams a fully-fledged LMS system. Purely by chance we came across Haldor, which turned out to be exactly what we were looking for,” says Cato Hansen, digital tutor and educator at Alta and Sandfallet upper secondary school.
Hansen says that they looked at several different LMS systems, but the problem with many was that they overlapped Teams and removed much of the original functionality which is not what they wanted.
Gives full LMS functionality in Teams
“Haldor’s system was more of a supplement to Teams and it works so much better. We felt comfortable and could use Teams in the way we were used to, while enjoying full LMS functionality at the same time.”
Haldor develops modern and user-friendly training tools based on Microsoft Office 365 and Teams. Their system offers a number of different features for tasks such as plans, communication and assessment, features that you can simply opt in to (or opt out of) based on your needs, which makes collaboration much easier for students, teachers and school management.

Underway with plans and assessment features
Both Alta and Sandfallet schools began using Haldor in the autumn of 2020, and in no time at all teachers and students started using many of the features.
“Today, we use the features to create work plans, assignments and assessments, as well as for reserving meetings, individual monitoring of students and notifications for parent teacher meetings,” says Hansen. He adds that one of the really major benefits of Haldor is that you can add the features you need as and when the need arises.
“Teachers, students and school management all use Haldor extensively, in fact every day, and even though we have not used all the features yet, I can visualise that we will be introducing more features as time goes by.”
Feel seen and heard by Haldor
For Hansen and indeed the municipality as a whole, it was very important to be able to keep Microsoft Teams, partly because the tool holds a strong position in the business community. The fact that the students work with Teams on a daily basis therefore gives them an advantage when they eventually start working.
“It was also an advantage that most people were already very familiar with Teams. This made it much easier to get up and running with Haldor,” says Hansen.
The experienced teacher also highlights the collaboration with Haldor and says that their interaction has been excellent from the get go.
“The dialogue has been fantastic. The team at Haldor are really service-oriented, easy to reach and responsive to our feedback. We feel that we are taken seriously and we have undergone high quality and thorough training via Teams.”
